Doug Pagitt is a controversial speaker, author and a prominent voice in the Emerging Church Movement and he was born in 1966. He is the head pastor of Solomon's Porch, a holistic, missional Christian community in Minneapolis, USA. Pagitt has a theology degree from Bethel Seminary and was one of the founders of Emergent Village (a generative friendship of missional church leaders around the world) and it is said that he coined the term ‘Emerging Church’ at a leadership retreat in the late 1990’s. He has authored a number of books and some of his favorite speaking topics include, church and culture, emerging church issues, Christian faith development, leadership, and new sciences and theology. He is married to Shelley and the father of four children.
