Erwin Raphael McManus is a controversial writer, futurist, activist, artist and spiritual leader in the Emergent Church Movement. He is also the self-labelled cultural architect and lead pastor of Mosaic in Los Angeles. He was born in El Salvador and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and Southwestern Theological Seminary. He was named as one of the “50 Most Influential Christians in America” (Jan 2007) by ChurchReport.com. His goal is to destroy Christianity as a world religion and be a “recatalyst” for the “movement of Jesus Christ”. He believes that Christians have lost touch with reality and many of his books focus on his favourite topics, such as heroism and potential. He further believes that the quest to live out your dreams begins by unleashing your creative spirit and coming face to face with the uniqueness of your potential. He is married with two children and one foster child.
