Rob Bell is a controversial speaker, author and pastor and involved with the Emerging Church Movement. He is the founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grandville, Michigan, USA (1999) and was born in 1970. Bell wanted to create a community where God could be experienced in a non-traditional way and their church grew from zero to 10,000 in less than two years and he became a phenomenon. His background is in alternative and punk rock music. Bell is also a featured speaker in the first series of spiritual short films called NOOMA and he is taking the Mars Hill message international with his books ‘Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith’ and ‘Sex God’. Bell is also one of the fresh young voices representing the emerging church movement and his post-modern, culture-relevant message has incredible appeal. Bell and his wife, Kristen, have two boys and live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. |
